EXTREME TREK - One of the newly opened trekking routes in Annapurna region, the Naar Phu valley trek offers you to a remote Nepalese village inhabited by Nepalese Tibetans. Best time to travel - September to May.

DAY 1: Arrival

Embarking on our journey begins from Kathmandu, the city with the remarkable architecture dated back to 16th Century. Our team representative will welcome you at the Tribhuwan International Airport and escort you to your designated hotel. Our representative will help you to check in to the hotel. You will be welcomed, facilitated and served with a beautiful hotel room. The first arrival day is entirely a break day. In the evening, our guests can walk around nearby touristic hubs like Thamel and Basantapur Durbar square.

DAY 2: Explore Kathmandu

Kathmandu Valley is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal with a rich artistic and cultural heritage. Kathmandu has been one of the popular destinations for international tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The valley offers a wonderful mix of Hinduism and Buddhism. Right after having breakfast we are off to visit one of the greatest Hindu temple- Pashupatinath, one famous Buddhist site Boudhanath Stupa. Overnight in Kathmandu.

DAY 3: Drive to Jagat [1300m] | The great view of Trisuli and Marshyangdi rivers with the beautiful Gurung village, Brahmins hills and the lifestyle of local communities on the way | 8-9hrs

After breakfast, we drive to Jagat via Besisahar, Lamjung district, 206km northwest from Kathmandu along with the great view of Trisuli and Marshyangdi rivers. On the way to the destination, we can see mesmerizing view of beautiful scenic hills, forests, rivers, local villages and towns as Khundi, Bahundanda. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.

DAY 4: Jagat To Dharapani [1860m] | We descend to a grassy riverbank | 6-7hrs

We continue walking until we reach the river. We then climb uphill leading to sharp-edged cliff facing the riverbank. En route, Chyamje comes into picture amidst the glorious backdrop of towering Annapurna Himalayan ranges. On treading along a succession of rock-strewn trails, we descend to a grassy riverbank that leads to Tal and Karte. We reach Dharapani after crossing a suspension bridge. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.

DAY 5: Dharapani to Naar Phu Valley First Camp [2740m] the amazing view of Annapurna II| 7hrs

The trail continues with the Naarrow path to reach the Naar Phu village from where we will be able to witness the amazing view of Annapurna II. During the entire way, we walk along the side of Marshyangdi and other rivers in addition to different scenic places. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.

DAY 6: Naar Phu Valley First Camp to Sinhenge Dharamsala [3230m] | 7hrs

Moving from the Naarphu valley first camp, we trek for the entire day across small jungle path, which would be a change from bigger trails around Annapurna. To reach the Sinhenge Dharamsala, we have to pass Choto and Naar PhuKhola. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.

DAY 7: Sinhenge Dharamsala to Upper Chaku Village [3270m] | Great views of chortens and Kang Guru | 7hrs

Today the trek begins by crossing MethangKhola. Then we continue the journey climbing up the path to breathtaking Methang pasture -Methang village – Kang Guru Village. We enjoy great views of chortens and Kang Guru before we pass through Methang Village to Junan Village. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.

DAY 8: Upper Chaku Village to Phu Village [3980m] | A small village with 30 houses | 6-7hrs

Trek begins with a hard steep ascent to the abandoned Kyan village famous for its amazing long Mani wall and a carved rocky path. Upon descending to the riverbed and crossing some Mani Chrotens, we finally reach Phu village. The village is very small and has only 30 houses. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.

DAY 9: Rest Day in Phu Village [3980m] | A complete rest for the day

Today we spend our entire day taking a complete rest for acclimatizing to altitude, contemplating and planning for upcoming trips and getting habituated to our trekking destinations. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.

DAY 10: Phu Village to Naar Campsite [3550m] | An incredible campsite | 6hrs

In order to reach Naar camping site, we have to reverse the trek walking down the valley and pass Chaku and PhuKhola on the way. After crossing the river, we move through Naar Phedi and climb up to reach Naar which offers incredible campsite as the land is rather grassy in nature. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.

DAY 11: Naar Campsite to Kang La Phedi [4530m] | Gentle path of lateral moraine of Temdenzon Khola | 6-7hrs

We ascend to Naar village through continuous walk on a long but gentle path of lateral moraine of Temdenzon Khola. Then we reach Kang La Phedi where our accommodation will be arranged at tea house lodge.

DAY 12: Kang La Phedi to Munje [3330m] | Difficult, long and ascending | 6hrs

This route is not that easy for the day because the trail is difficult, long and we have to scale uphill. However, it is definitely worthwhile and very rewarding. To reach Munje we have to cross Kang La and Chorten from where we can take a glimpse of great Himalayas, massifs, grassy path of Ngawal and forests. Upon reaching Munje, our accommodation will be arranged at tea house lodge.

DAY 13: Munje to Manang [3540] | Enthusiasm escalates viewing the splendid monasteries in Braga village | 2-3hrs

We leave Munje and start the trek towards Manang. Moving ahead we walk in between the cultivated fields. In addition, our enthusiasm definitely escalates viewing the splendid monasteries in Braga village and ranges of Himalayas such as Annapurna-II, Annapurna-III, Annapurna-IV, Gangapurna, and Tilicho Peak. For the rest of the day we can walk around Manang Valley and explore it. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.

DAY 14: Manang to Letdar [4250m] | Uphill to Thorang La Pass | 5hrs

After completing the acclimatization, we will leave Manang. The trail makes an ascent to the Thorang La pass. We have to climb steadily through Tenki, leaving the Marsyangdi Valley and JarsangKhola Valley until we reach Ledar. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.

DAY 15: Letdar to Thorong Phedi [4620m] | A Naarrow trail across an unstable steep slope | 5hrs

Leaving Letdar, we follow the path making a gradual ascent to a ridge before descending to the head waters of the Marshyangdi. We follow a Naarrow trail across an unstable steep slope and then descend to ThorongPhedi. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.

DAY 16: Thorong Phedi to Muktinath [3710m] | An exulting experience of visiting sacred site | 7- 8hrs

Thorang La, an unforgettable experience is clearly the climax of Annapurna Circuit Trek. We will be huffing and puffing and at the same time an exulting experience of visiting sacred site of Muktinath Temple (Temple of Lord Vishnu). Muktinath is a pilgrimage center for both Hindus and Buddhists. Here, we can see Tibetan traders as well as Sadhus. Shrines could be seen erected in a grove of trees including a Buddhists Gompa and the Vishnu temple of Jwalamai. The area restricts any hotels and camping sites. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.

DAY 17: Muktinath to Jomsom [2743m] | Buddhist Monastery nearby Muktinath Temple | 5-6hrs

In the morning we visit the Muktinath Temple, the temple of Lord Vishnu. There is also a Buddhist Monastery nearby. Furthermore, magnificent views of Dhaulagiri Peak can be seen from this place. From Muktinath, we will then continue the trek to Jomsom. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 18: Fly to Pokhara [15mins] & Sightseeing in Pokhara [900m] | Incredibly beautiful Pokhara

We go early morning walk to airport for flight to Pokhara. On arrival at Pokhara will meet by our representative and transfer to hotel. Pokhara is a globally renowned tourist destination for its natural beauty. After breakfast we go for a half day city sightseeing. Firstly, we visit Fewa Lake where we see the reflection of Mt. Machhapuchhre if the weather is clear. The lake also offers beautiful Barahi Temple which is located in the middle of it. Other interesting destinations are Devi’s Waterfall, Gupteshwor Cave. Rest of the day is free for personal interest. We can also unwind and relax to pamper our self as there are good spas. Overnight at hotel in Pokhara.

DAY 19: Drive Back to Kathmandu [1,345m] | About 200 km drive

After breakfast, we drive ahead to Kathmandu. The entire day in the capital is free for shopping and relaxation. In the evening farewell dinner will be organized at Nepali restaurant with cultural dance program. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

DAY 20: Departure

This is the last day of your visit. You can enjoy shopping and buying souvenir to friends and relatives. We will drop you to the airport 3hrs prior to the departure time.

  • Meet & airport transfer with one half day sightseeing.
  • Kathmandu to Jagat & Pokhara to Kathmandu by surface transportation.
  • Twin sharing accommodation in 3-Star standard accommodation in BB basis: 3 nights at
    Kathmandu and 1 night at Pokhara.
  • Twin sharing tourist standard Tea house accommodation during the trek on full board basis.
  • Professional tour Escort in Kathmandu & trekking guide during the trek.
  • All kind of Permits & entry fees as per itinerary: National Park, Naar Phu Permit, TIMS &
    monument fees.
  • Porters on 2: 1 basis.
  • Trekking equipment’s as stick, down (feather) jacket, sleeping bag, duffel bag, first aid kit set &
    basic equipment.
  • Insurance of porters and guide.
  • Farewell dinner with special souvenir from Nepal.

EXCLUSIONS:

  • Any kind of airfare: international or domestic airfare not mentioned above.
  • Meals other than mentioned in the itinerary.
  • Any items and services not mentioned in inclusions.
  • Nepal visa fees ( US$ 50 Single Entry Visa valid for first 30 days payable in cash at immigration
    and requires a recent photograph)
  • Items of personal nature such as bar bills, alcoholic beverages, laundry, telephone calls, extra
    mileage, personal gratuities as tips to the staffs at hotel, guide, driver, porter etc.
  • Personal insurance policy – suggested a comprehensive travel insurance covering tour and
    flight cancellations, loss of valuables, thefts, illness, accidents and hospitalization.
  • Expenses incurred by re-routing, inclement weather, floods, famine, political disruptions,
    strikes, riots and other disturbances.
  • Emergency evacuation charges [ Helicopter rescue].
  • Horse / Pony ride.
  • Photography charges in the monasteries and monument.

Booking

Your contract is with Mountain Adventure Tours & Travels. A contract exists between us when we have confirmed you on our tour / hotel booking / or any other travel related services of your choice and we have received your booking request and deposits. All correspondence/s in respect of Tours / Travel Service bookings should be addressed to Mountain Adventure Tours & Travels.

Payments

For the services contracted, 40 % advance payment should be made to hold the booking on a confirmed basis and the balance amount should be paid before commencement of your tour. We hold the right to decide upon the amount to be paid as an advance payment, based on the nature of services and the time left for the commencement of the services.

Payment Options

Payment can be made by Bank Transfer, Cash payment to our office or by Demand Draft / Cheque. All payments should be free and clear of any withholding tax and deduction. Bank charges, if any, for remittance (by remitting bank or by intermediary bank) would be strictly borne by payer.

Rights to amend the itinerary if required

Tour once commenced will strictly go as per the itinerary finalised. In case of events and circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to change all or parts of the contents of the itinerary for safety and well being of our esteemed passengers.

Policy Regarding Cancellation / No Show / Early Departure

In case of cancellation of tour/travel services due to any avoidable/unavoidable reason/s we must be informed in writing. Cancellation charges would be effective from the date we receive letter in writing and cancellation charges would be as follows:

  • 30 days & prior to arrival – 10% of the tour/service cost.
  • 20 days to 18 days prior to arrival – 20% of the tour/service cost.
  • 14 days to 16 days prior to arrival – 25% of the tour/service cost.
  • 10 days to 08 days prior to arrival – 50% of the tour/service cost.
  • 07 days & less, prior to arrival or no show – NO REFUND.

Please note – Irrespective of above mentioned cancellations slabs – in case of cancellation of tour services after the booking is made with us – a minimum 10% service charges would be applicable.

Refund

In case you cancel the trip after commencement refund would be restricted to a limited amount that too would depend on the amount that we would be able to recover from the hoteliers we patronize. For unused hotel accommodation, chartered transportation and missed meals etc. we do not bear any responsibility to refund.

Where as in case of Cancellation before the commencement, it will take atleast two weeks time to refund the said amount.

Our Liabilities & Limitations

Please note that after the finalization of the tour/service cost, if there are any hikes in entrance fees of monuments/museums, taxes, fuel cost or guide charges by the Govt. of India, the same would be charged as extra.

Mountain Adventure Tours & Travels act only in the capacity of agent for the hotels, airlines, transporters, railways & contractors providing other services & all exchange orders, receipts, contracts & tickets issued by us are issued subject to terms & conditions under which these services are provided by them.

All itineraries are sample itineraries, intended to give you a general idea of the likely trip schedule. Numerous factors such as weather, road conditions, the physical ability of the participants etc. may dictate itinerary changes either before the tour or while on the trail. We reserve the right to change any schedule in the interest of the trip participants’ safety, comfort & general well being.

Our rates are based on the prevailing rates as negotiated by us with the hotels, airlines etc. Hotels and Airlines retain the right to modify the rates without notice. In case of such changes the rates quoted before the modification, can be changed by us according to the modifications by hotels or airlines. All hotel bookings are based on usual check in and checkout time of the hotels until unless indicated in the itinerary.

We shall not be responsible for any delays & alterations in the programme or expenses incurred – directly or indirectly – due to natural hazards, flight cancellations, accident, breakdown of machinery or equipments, breakdown of transport, weather, sickness, landslides, political closures or any untoward incidents.

We shall not be responsible for any loss, injury or damage to person, property, or otherwise in connection with any accommodation, transportation or other services, resulting – directly or indirectly – from any act of GOD, dangers, fire, accident, breakdown in machinery or equipment, breakdown of transport, wars, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferages, epidemics, medical or custom department regulations, defaults, or any other causes beyond our control.

We do not have any insurance policy covering the expenses for accident, sickness, loss due to theft, or any other reasons. Visitors are advised to seek such insurance arrangements in their home country. All baggage & personal property/s at all times are at the client’s risk.

Passports & Visas

To travel to India from overseas countries except for the citizen of Nepal & Bhutan, one needs a 06 months valid passport and a valid Visa. And processing of Passport and Visa are not included in the tour cost.

Health

Any person who has a contagious disease is forbidden to travel, any person found during the tour with such a disease will be asked to leave the tour and will have to make their own arrangements to return home.
