MODERATE TREK: Everest Base Camp (EBC) Trek is one of the most challenging mountain treks in the world. Located in Khumbu region of Nepal, this trek has been a very popular destination for trekkers. Best time to travel - September to May.
Embarking on our journey begins from Kathmandu, the city with the remarkable architecture dated back to 16th Century. Our team representative will welcome you at the Tribhuwan International Airport and escort you to your designated hotel. Our representative will help you to check in to the hotel. You will be welcomed, facilitated and served with a beautiful hotel room. The first arrival day is entirely a break day. In the evening, you can walk around nearby touristic hubs like Thamel and Basantapur Durbar square.
Kathmandu valley is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The valley offers a wonderful mix of Hinduism and Buddhism. After breakfast we visit UNESCO world heritage sites as one of the largest Hindu temple Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddha Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa Kathmandu Durbar Squar. Back to hotel, rest for the remaining day. Overnight stay at hotel.
After breakfast we board a flight to Lukla and land on a steep mountain runway that brings us a new start of our trek at the village of Lukla (2,850 m). Even during the entire flight, we can enjoy panoramic sights of great Himalayas of Nepal including Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt. Makalu (8,463m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,153m), Mt. Lhotse (8,501m), Mt. Lhotse Shar (8,393m), Kanchenjunga, Gaurishankar, Ganesh, Langtang etc. From Lukla, we head upward to Dudh Koshi Valley on a well-marked trail to Phakding. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.
Leaving Phakding we cross the river twice through high suspension bridges and arrive at Monjo, the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park which was set-up in order to protect and preserve the fragile mountain environment. From here we follow the path to reach Namche which is the major trading village in entire Khumbu region. If the weather is clear we can get the first glimpse of Mt Everest. We spend our entire day in Namche by taking complete rest in order to acclimatize to gain altitude, plan for forthcoming trips and get habituated for trekking destinations. We also visit Sherpa Museum and nearby Khunde Hospital which was set up by Sir Edmund Hillary and Everest View Hotel for sunset view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and AmaDablam. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.
The trail follows the path to the side of the valley, high above the DudhKoshi River. We will get to see some great views of mountains peaks of the Khumbu region including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and AmaDablam. As we move downwards, we pass through several Sherpa villages and teashops and continue the hike to reach Tengboche by following the zigzag path. The path offers awesome sights of Rhododendron bushes with beautiful birds and superb mountain scenery. Tengboche is famous for its legendary monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region. Overnight stay at tea house lodge/ camp.
We descend downhill from Tengboche through the forests and cross ImjaKhola (River). The trail then follows the uphill path to the village of Pangboche which faces Mt. AmaDablam (6,856m). Joy of the trek will be further escalated by the views of mountains, forests, Gompas, rivers etc. Further two hours of walk will take us to our last destination for today. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.
After the continuous walk for seven days, we take a complete rest. We spend our entire day in Pheriche resting in order to acclimatize to gain altitude, plan for forthcoming trips and get habituated to trekking destinations. However, we can also climb up onto the ridge for the view of beautiful Mt. Lhotse and visit Imja Valley. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.
After leaving Dingboche we trek uphill to Lobuche and pass through a wide valley, Khumbu glacier and several tea houses in between. We walk up through Dungla where we can also find the memorial stupas dedicated to the climbers and trekkers who lost their lives on Everest over many years. Moreover, the trail also offers magnificent views of Mt. Lobuche, Mt. Pumari and Mt. Nuptse. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.
In order to reach GorakShep we have to pass Kala Patthar and Khumbu glaciers surrounded by astoundingly beautiful snow-clad mountains. We have an opportunity to meet Everest Climbers during spring season on our way to Gorakshep. Unbelievable surrounding beauty provides us a great relief to our tired feet. Three hours of further walking and we reach GorakShep. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.
A very early start is required to reach the Everest Base Camp. It takes several hours as the trail weaves its way through ice pinnacles and crevasses of the Khumbu Glacier. We trek to Everest Base Camp an easy way. However, there are several ups and downs mostly on a glacier path. There is also a lot of meandering on rough terrains. As we reach the base camp, we enjoy the incredible melt patterns and admire the gently rounded ice towers on the upper part of the Khumbu glacier. The Everest Base Camp is stunningly beautiful. We can enjoy amazing views of Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori mountains from the base camp. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.
We need to walk downhill. Couple of hours of walk will take us to Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) from where we continue the journey and pass Khumbu Khola, Imja Khola and the suspension bridge. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.
From Pheriche our journey continues towards Namche. The trail takes us across rivers and rhododendron forests, amidst the views of Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, AmaDablam, Kantega and Thamserku mountains. We descend rapidly through pine forest where we can easily spot mountains goats, pheasants and other wild animals and birds. Overnight stay at tea house lodge.
This will be the final day of the trek and the ultimate destination is Lukla. The path goes alongside the Dudh Koshi to reach Lukla. We cross several suspension bridges, pass by several monasteries and villages. Upon reaching Lukla in the evening, we have time to enjoy local drinks with Sherpa guides and porters. Overnight stay at lodge.
After having breakfast, we walk for our flight to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu airport, our team representative will transfer you to the designated hotel. In the evening, you have free time for refreshments and shopping. Evening farewell dinner will be organized at Nepali restaurant with cultural program. Overnight stay at hotel.
This is the last day of your visit. You can enjoy shopping and buying souvenir to friends and relatives. We will drop you to the airport 3 hrs prior to the departure time. The memories that you have shared with us matter a lot.

Your contract is with Mountain Adventure Tours & Travels. A contract exists between us when we have confirmed you on our tour / hotel booking / or any other travel related services of your choice and we have received your booking request and deposits. All correspondence/s in respect of Tours / Travel Service bookings should be addressed to Mountain Adventure Tours & Travels.
For the services contracted, 40 % advance payment should be made to hold the booking on a confirmed basis and the balance amount should be paid before commencement of your tour. We hold the right to decide upon the amount to be paid as an advance payment, based on the nature of services and the time left for the commencement of the services.
Payment can be made by Bank Transfer, Cash payment to our office or by Demand Draft / Cheque. All payments should be free and clear of any withholding tax and deduction. Bank charges, if any, for remittance (by remitting bank or by intermediary bank) would be strictly borne by payer.
Tour once commenced will strictly go as per the itinerary finalised. In case of events and circumstances beyond our control, we reserve the right to change all or parts of the contents of the itinerary for safety and well being of our esteemed passengers.
In case of cancellation of tour/travel services due to any avoidable/unavoidable reason/s we must be informed in writing. Cancellation charges would be effective from the date we receive letter in writing and cancellation charges would be as follows:
Please note – Irrespective of above mentioned cancellations slabs – in case of cancellation of tour services after the booking is made with us – a minimum 10% service charges would be applicable.
In case you cancel the trip after commencement refund would be restricted to a limited amount that too would depend on the amount that we would be able to recover from the hoteliers we patronize. For unused hotel accommodation, chartered transportation and missed meals etc. we do not bear any responsibility to refund.
Where as in case of Cancellation before the commencement, it will take atleast two weeks time to refund the said amount.
Please note that after the finalization of the tour/service cost, if there are any hikes in entrance fees of monuments/museums, taxes, fuel cost or guide charges by the Govt. of India, the same would be charged as extra.

Our rates are based on the prevailing rates as negotiated by us with the hotels, airlines etc. Hotels and Airlines retain the right to modify the rates without notice. In case of such changes the rates quoted before the modification, can be changed by us according to the modifications by hotels or airlines. All hotel bookings are based on usual check in and checkout time of the hotels until unless indicated in the itinerary.
We shall not be responsible for any delays & alterations in the programme or expenses incurred – directly or indirectly – due to natural hazards, flight cancellations, accident, breakdown of machinery or equipments, breakdown of transport, weather, sickness, landslides, political closures or any untoward incidents.
We shall not be responsible for any loss, injury or damage to person, property, or otherwise in connection with any accommodation, transportation or other services, resulting – directly or indirectly – from any act of GOD, dangers, fire, accident, breakdown in machinery or equipment, breakdown of transport, wars, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferages, epidemics, medical or custom department regulations, defaults, or any other causes beyond our control.
We do not have any insurance policy covering the expenses for accident, sickness, loss due to theft, or any other reasons. Visitors are advised to seek such insurance arrangements in their home country. All baggage & personal property/s at all times are at the client’s risk.
To travel to India from overseas countries except for the citizen of Nepal & Bhutan, one needs a 06 months valid passport and a valid Visa. And processing of Passport and Visa are not included in the tour cost.
Any person who has a contagious disease is forbidden to travel, any person found during the tour with such a disease will be asked to leave the tour and will have to make their own arrangements to return home.
